Nomination Letter Selection Criteria

RE: Nomination and Selection of New Scholars for 2016-2017
Nominations are welcome for the selection of new members to the Society of Teaching Scholars.
Nominees must be a member of the faculty of the University of Florida College of Medicine, put forth 500 hours of educational effort per year (~10 hours per week) over at least five years at the University of Florida and be involved in the training of students (medical, graduate or physician assistant), residents and/or fellows. Applicants are required to submit an educational portfolio. The educator portfolio requirements can be viewed here.
Faculty potentially interested in applying should review the format of the portfolio now so that they can begin to collect the necessary documentation. As the fall approaches, specific dates for nominations, letters of intent and the portfolio due date will be provided.
2016-17 New Member Nomination Dates:
– Nominations Due by Friday, November 11, 2016
– Letters of Intent Due by Friday, November 18, 2016
– Educator Portfolio Due by Friday, December 9, 2016
– Final Selection and Announcement of New Members made by Friday, January 27, 2017
