Vision

Goals
- Launch the Academy in Medical Education Scholarship (AIMES) to build a culture and infrastructure of medical educational scholarship
- Promote interdepartmental educational research communities and collaboration
- Provide faculty development and access to educational research tools and mentorship
- Support faculty advancement through scholarly dissemination and teaching excellence

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS for the UF COM Medical Education Research & Scholarship intensive course!
- Application opens June 1, 2026 and closes June 30, 2026
- The course will launch on August 7, 2026 and run through April 9, 2027.
- Target audience: junior faculty or early mid-career faculty across the entire College of Medicine who have a career interest in medical education research/scholarship and a medical education capstone project of interest for the course.
- Letter of Support required from Department Chair (or equivalent leadership) to ensure support of faculty time and dedicated mentorship for the course

NEW TEACHING FACULTY: The inaugural Faculty as Educators (FasE) Bootcamp will empower new faculty hires with the essential teaching skills to be successful educators.
- The bootcamp will occur on August 20, 2026 from 1-3:30 pm.
- Target audience: Junior faculty with teaching responsibilities who graduated within ~3 years from postgraduate training
- Core teaching content includes optimizing the clinical learning environment, delivering effective feedback, crafting quality assessments and evaluations, teaching on the fly, teaching clinical reasoning and critical thinking

– Annual event showcasing faculty and learners educational excellence across the entire UF College of Medicine institution
Faculty Development Initiatives in Teaching Excellence
