Dr. Harrell called the meeting to order at 7:33am.

- Electives Policy
Goal is for every student to be well prepared clinically for residency. A task force addressed the three questions below:- Of the 16 electives required in 4th year, how many should be clinical? Discussed a range from 10-14 at prior meeting and task force recommended 14.
- Should there be a maximum number of clinical electives taken prior to 4th year that can count towards the requirement.? The task force recommended up to 2 credits from 3rd year could apply to 4th year
- What defines a clinical elective experience? Task force recommended that 40 hours of clinical experience equate to 1 elective credit hour and there must be structured clinical evaluation by a faculty or resident and after a discussion, a minimum of one clinical evaluation per credit was recommended.
- Class of 2028 is grandfathered

Motion to approve the task force recommends that 14 of the minimum 16 elective credits required in 4th year be clinical; up to 2 of the clinical credits could be earned prior to 4th year; and definition of what constitutes a clinical elective experience – 40-hour clinical experience equates to 1 credit hour.

Removing the sentence “It is not sufficient for the student to seek are through the Student Health Care Center, for the SHCC can offer only primary outpatient car” to correct the misconception amongst the students related to the ability of student health to take care of their needs.

- Title IX
Revision to align with policy changes (effective 7/1/25)
UF changed their Title IX compliance – once reported, the complainant will receive information about the resolution options available. Also, prior to this change, only supervisors were mandatory reporters, now all employees are required to report if there is an allegation of Title IX. Other minor updates to align with UF were updated as well.
Motion to approve update of the Title IX policy.

Referring to the DCI which is the basic document that is submitted to the LCME and which needs to state which elements are being tracked. Following are the updates:- Elements 1.3, 2.2, 3.3, 4.1, 4.3, 4.6, 10.9, 11.5, 12.2, 12.5-12.8 – removed from annual tracking as provided by university oversight
- Element 2.4 – Added the Curriculum Committee as receiving results and made the individuals responsible for action more inclusive (ADME to OME)
- Element 3.6 – Added the Curriculum Committee as receiving results and added the SADEA to individuals responsible for action
- Elements 5.6, 5.11, 8.6 – Added the Curriculum Committee as receiving results

- Prerequisites: there was discussion related to whether recommended but not required courses should include courses that teach critical reasoning and communication skills, which MSAC can consider
