University of Florida Gainesville Student Awarded 2022 STFM Foundation Student Scholarship
October 2021— Celeste Rousseau medical student at University of Florida Gainesville, has been awarded a 2022 STFM Foundation Student Scholarship from the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) to participate in the 2022 STFM Conference on Medical Student Education.
This highly competitive scholarship is awarded to some of the best and brightest medical students from across the country. In addition to recognizing a strong commitment to academic family medicine through scholastic, volunteer, and leadership pursuits, this award acknowledges the recipient’s strong potential for a career in academic medicine. Only 18 awards were given for 2022.
Dr. Suzanne Minor, MD, chair of the 2022 STFM Conference on Medical Student Education, added “All STFM Foundation recipients receive free registration to attend and present a poster at the Virtual 2022 STFM Conference on Medical Student Education, scheduled for January 26-28, 2022.”
Celeste Rousseau plans to present a poster at the conference, titled: Using interprofessional collaboration to address falsely elevated potassium levels in a rural clinic.
“The 2022 Medical Student Education Steering Committee congratulates Celeste Rousseau, and University of Florida Gainesville on this award” added Minor.
